E-vignette
The e-vignette is a road usage authorization valid for Hungary’s expressways, which can also be purchased via mobile payment.
Roads subject to toll payment in Hungary may only be used with a pre-purchased road usage authorization, i.e., an e-vignette. The data required to determine the appropriate toll category (such as the maximum permissible gross weight and vehicle type) can be found in the vehicle’s registration certificate.
The toll sections of Hungary’s public road network are defined by the Government Decree 45/2020 (XI. 28.) issued by the Ministry for Innovation and Technology, which specifies the tolls applicable to motorways, expressways, and main roads.
The unified electronic sales platform is operated by Nemzeti Mobilfizetési Zrt. (National Mobile Payment Plc.), a state-owned company designated by law. Based on this designation, the following resellers are authorized to provide e-vignette services in Hungary:
