An e-vignette providing road use entitlement is valid for Hungary’s expressways and can be purchased also with mobile payment.
E-vignette guide for our customers
Roads in Hungary that are subject to tolls can only be used with a pre-booked road use entitlement, i.e., an e-vignette. The data required to determine the appropriate fee category (gross vehicle weight (GVW), vehicle type) can be found in the vehicle registration certificate. For more information visit nemzetiutdij.hu.
When buying an e-vignette, the fact of financial performance in itself does not automatically mean the entitlement to use the motorway. If you do not see the entitlement among the data for the e-vignette on the website or in the application, please repeat the purchase. If this again fails to happen, it is necessary to ensure that the motorway entitlement is settled in another way to avoid the imposition of a surcharge. In the event of entering the motorway without a valid entitlement, any resulting surcharge claims will in all cases be borne by the purchaser. To prevent unauthorised use of the road, always check at the time of purchase the license plate number, the international vehicle registration code, the vehicle category and the validity period provided in the application or on the website.

* The vehicle’s category - based on the vehicle registration certificate - must be provided in the SMS!
It is not obligatory to provide the international vehicle registration code for vehicles registered in Hungary. For vehicles with a foreign license plate the international vehicle registration code must be provided!
Do not use hyphens or spaces when entering the license plate number.

Purchasing an e-vignette via the web
E-vignettes can be purchased also without topping up the balance, but with a bank card at the https://nemzetimobilfizetes.hu/applikaciok webpage. Web registration is required for the purchase!
