Dear Customers!
In the past period, we have received some credit card transactions initiated by unknown persons on behalf of a system similar to the National Mobile Payment System, which could be confused with it. We have investigated these transactions and found that they were not initiated by the authorized person and that services were billed which are not necessarily part of the National Mobile Payment System (e.g. purchases related to game consoles). These purchase transactions are initiated and executed outside the National Mobile Payment System, therefore no money is moved, and financial transactions, purchases, or debits are made within the National Mobile Payment System.
The National Mobile Payment Plc. has filed a complaint about such transactions and we would ask you to do the same if the abuse is proven.
Please also note that, in our experience, fraudulent e-mails (misusing the names of banks, financial institutions, utility companies, and other service providers) are often sent by unknown personstoo obtain customers' login details (password, personal data, data related to financial transactions). General characteristics of this type of mail:
- in the majority of cases, they refer to some kind of data update, system update, security review, or possibly the need for immediate bill payment
- the text is written in poor Hungarian, contains inappropriate language, uses non-standard branding elements and greeting/ thank you forms
- requesting urgent action and threatening some kind of sanction (e.g. "if you do not provide your details, your account will be blocked")
- in each case includes a link to a fake website
- comes from an unusual email address (typically ending in .com, .net)
Please act with caution in such cases, do not provide your details based on suspicious-looking emails, and report suspected abuse to the relevant service provider.
Thank you for your kind cooperation,
Yours sincerely,
National Mobile Payment Plc.
